Nick Saglimbeni is a Los Angeles-based producer, director, and photographer, and one of the defining glamour photographers of his generation.

Since 2022, he has served as a consulting producer on The Kardashians for Hulu and Disney across eight seasons, and directed the series’ opening titles for seasons 7 and 8. Through Slickforce Studio, his Los Angeles production and visual effects house, he has produced music videos for major K-pop artists, produced and directed brand films including the Slickforce Softlight and Light Frame campaigns, and supervised visual effects and finishing for Disney, Beats, and Germany’s Next Top Model.

A graduate of USC’s School of Cinematic Arts, where he studied cinematography, Saglimbeni founded Slickforce Studio in downtown Los Angeles in the mid-2000s, bringing a filmmaker’s approach to the photograph: motivated light, controlled color, and story in a single frame. Within five years the studio had shot its 100th magazine cover. His editorial work has appeared in People, Maxim, Cosmopolitan, Teen Vogue, FHM, Stuff, SHOW, Loaded, Black Men, Urban Ink, Import Tuner, and more, and the cinematic, high-gloss aesthetic he established there has become the defining look of contemporary celebrity and brand imagery.

Saglimbeni is best known for his long collaboration with the Kardashian-Jenner family, whose campaigns he photographed for over a decade before joining The Kardashians on Hulu as a producer. He shot one of Kim Kardashian’s earliest magazine covers, photographed Kendall Jenner’s first modeling portfolio, and photographed the Kylie Cosmetics campaigns throughout the brand’s early years, as well as the family’s books, Kardashian Konfidential and Kris Jenner… and All Things Kardashian.

Slickforce Studio’s clients, across photography, production, and visual effects, have included Kylie Cosmetics, Skims, Fabletics, Apple, Beats, L’Oréal, Neiman Marcus, Skechers, Sports Illustrated, and Walmart. Saglimbeni’s portrait subjects include Priyanka Chopra, Disha Patani, Sean Combs, and Paula Abdul, and his international work spans India, Sri Lanka, and Germany, including covers for Maxim India, Maxim en Español, and Cosmopolitan Sri Lanka. He is widely recognized for bringing women of color to the forefront of glamour photography. Saglimbeni and Slickforce Studio have been profiled on The View, Larry King Live, Keeping Up with the Kardashians, and E! News.

He is also a technologist and a teacher. In 2010 he patented the Saglimbeni3D photography system and in 2011 launched WMB 3D: World’s Most Beautiful, the first commercial magazine photographed and designed entirely in 3D, which won the Grand Prize in 3D at the 2012 Sony World Photography Awards. His retouching and compositing techniques earned three NAPP Guru Grand Prizes and the 2009 BlackBerry/AT&T Small Business Award, and that finishing craft now underpins the studio’s visual effects work; his Mastering Retouching and Mastering Lighting series taught a generation of photographers the methods behind his images, and the Slickforce Softlight, developed in-house, remains in production use today.

He is also an engineer and a teacher. In 2010 he created the Saglimbeni3D photography system and in 2011 launched WMB 3D: World’s Most Beautiful, the first commercial magazine photographed and designed entirely in 3D, which won the Grand Prize in 3D at the 2012 Sony World Photography Awards and the Nvidia Champion Award. His retouching and compositing techniques earned three NAPP Guru Grand Prizes and the 2009 BlackBerry/AT&T Small Business Award, and that finishing craft now underpins the studio’s visual effects work. His Mastering Retouching and Mastering Lighting series taught a generation of photographers the methods behind his images, and Slickforce now designs and manufactures its own lighting tools, including the Slickforce Softlight and Light Frame, used by working photographers and by a new generation of toy, action-figure, and aspiring photographers learning to light.

His two signature personal projects each pair image-making with a cause. SlickforceGirl (2012) is a photography and comic-book hybrid featuring models as heroines, with proceeds benefiting Hope for the Warriors and breast cancer charities, and the Painted Princess Project (2018) is a series of culturally themed portraits raising funds to combat human trafficking.
